About Me
Joan Box
BSc (Hons), Reg. MBACP (Accred)
Since qualifying as a counsellor in 2002 I have become passionate about the benefits of talking therapy.
Over the years, in order to best suit my client’s needs, I have adopted what is known as an integrative approach. This means that whilst my training was initially centred around two approaches – person centred and existential therapy in practice and when relevant I draw from other approaches too such as Solution Focused Therapy and CBT.
I am an accredited member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP) and abide by its code of ethics; the Ethical Framework for the Counselling Professions.
I undertake monthly supervision (in which my work with clients is overseen) and keep up to date with developments in the counselling world both of these ensure my practice is highly professional, ethical and relevant.
I am fully insured, hold an enhanced DBS certificate and fully comply with data protection laws.
